Lovely view, scenic. The food is good and the staff is very caring. I loved the place, good to have a walk around too. I took pictures of the view and walk
Gorgeous location with some of the best seafood ever eaten! Staff, food, location all on point. Definitely book your place well in advance, it's incredibly popular! The BEST whitebait I've ever had the pleasure of trying! We came at a particularly busy time, plus in a mini heatwave and the staff were swamped, you could see how busy they were, but they were incredible and so friendly!
Super tasty fresh seafood, all written up on specials boards which make it feel as though it's based on the catch of the day or what can be caught locally. I had the prawn cocktail and my partner had the crab tart, both with a tasty garden salad and potato salad, Definitely worth a visit!
Relaxed restaurant with superb menu choices. The view is hard to beat with activity on the river always interesting. Portions are impressively large. Advance booking is advisable, but the crabs were the highlight. Go for the crab tart if you aren't into extracting crab meat. It does take practise. Finger bowls might have been useful, but it was hugely entertaining to watch first timers...oh yes, you might want to bring safety goggles (for flying crab shell).
Gorgeous location with lovely staff and nice food. I was delighted that they were happy to adapt some of the dishes to make them vegan rather than vegetarian. It could be really useful if they could put vegan available on the menu. But I really appreciate them having vegan options. The vegan carrot cake was particularly lovely even though it wasn’t on the menu. Definitely something to add to the regular desert menu!
Amazing location with spectacular views, especially if you get a table for 2 on the balcony overlooking the River Dart. The food was fabulous, my wife particularly enjoyed the huge cracked crab salad.
We enjoyed delicious meals of black bream & half shell scallops at a table for 2 on the terrace. It's a really lovely spot. I would also have enjoyed a coffee, but we were told the table was booked out again & and there wasn't time. On leaving the area by boat 15 minutes later we could see our table was still free .....
We were lucky enough to get a walk in table for 3 at the bar seats, the restaurant was fully booked for lunch. We were very glad they could accommodate us, the menu is on the blackboards as you walk in. We got the haddock and chips, the red mullet caught our eye so we ordered that and half a pint of prawns. The food was fantastic, we highly recommend the red mullet - it was cooked perfectly and seasoned lightly. The haddock and chips was also great, though a touch on the expensive side. If you're in the area, definitely stop by for lunch. I'd recommend booking ahead if possible, it's very popular. We also came back the following day and tried a few other dishes. We got the black bream, scallops, haddock and chips again and fresh oysters. All were fantastic.
